Ellis Barn is an attractive, stone-built cottage, converted
from an 18th century barn and Listed as being of architectural interest.
It has exposed beams and an open fire, with deceptively spacious accommodation
which can sleep up to 7 people and is comfortably furnished and tastefully
decorated throughout.
Ellis Barn is situated in Airton, a picturesque Yorkshire Dales village,
just over two miles from Malham
with its famous limestone Cove and Gordale Scar. Ellis Barn has an enviable
and prime position by the village green in the prettiest part of the village.
The Accommodation
The
very large and comfortable lounge has a welcoming open fire set in a huge
stone fireplace. There is also a colour television and bar billiards.
The dining room is another spacious room with attractive french windows
overlooking the patio.
The large, well equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, larder fridge,
small freezer, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave.
In the entrance hall there is a shower room with wc, washbasin, heated
towel rail and shaver light.
On
the first floor there are three bedrooms - one double plus single, one
twin and a smaller twin room. There is a shaver point in the main bedroom.
The main bathroom has wc, bath, bidet, double washbasin and separate shower,
shaver light and heated towel rail.
Ellis Barn has full central heating, and all fuel and power is included
in the rent - there are no hidden extras. Bed linen is supplied and towels
are available on request at no extra charge. There is a cot and high chair
if required. Garaging and shared parking is available during your stay
with us.
Ellis Barn is available all year round and also offers short breaks
- midweek and at weekends during the period end of October until March.
2008 prices range from £285 to £500 per week, with
short breaks from £190
Round and About Ellis Barn
Airton is very conveniently placed as a base from which
to tour with ease both the Yorkshire Dales and parts of the Lake District.
It is just over 2 miles from the popular Dales village of Malham,
famous for its massive cove and scar, which attracts visitors, including
many walkers, all year round.
The popular and bustling market town of Skipton is only 9 miles away.
Skipton is also home to the largest fully enclosed castle in the country
and has a number of individual and specialist shops, restaurants and tea-rooms.
Airton is close to Settle and Clapham, both of which are deserving
of a visit if you wish to see the real beauty of typical Dales villages.
Clapham has a forceful stream rushing through the centre of the village,
and is home to the well-known Ingleborough Show Caves. The famous Settle
to Carlisle railway is also within easy reach.
