Airton is very conveniently placed as a base from which to tour with ease both the Yorkshire Dales and parts of the Lake District. It is just over 2 miles from the popular Dales village of Malham, famous for its massive cove and scar, which attracts visitors, including many walkers, all year round.

The popular and bustling market town of Skipton is only 9 miles away. Skipton is also home to the largest fully enclosed castle in the country and has a number of individual and specialist shops, restaurants and tea-rooms.

Airton is close to Settle and Clapham, both of which are deserving of a visit if you wish to see the real beauty of typical Dales villages.

Clapham has a forceful stream rushing through the centre of the village, and is home to the well-known Ingleborough Show Caves. The famous Settle to Carlisle railway is also within easy reach.
