Hebden
House,
Hebden Bridge
Located in Hebden Bridge, in the heart of Pennine Yorkshire, Hebden
House provides group accommodation & conference and training facilities
at competitive prices.
Hebden House is the residential wing of the Birchcliffe Centre and is
situated on the hillside above the picturesque town of Hebden Bridge.
Set in two acres of woodland, Hebden House offers a peaceful and secluded
setting from which to run training courses, workshops, seminars, and retreats.
Hebden Bridge is surrounded by stunning countryside, and contains many
interesting shops and attractions. In the heart of Calderdale, the town
is a few minutes from Pennine moorlands and secluded shady valleys. It
is noted for its Victorian 'up and down' houses of several storeys built
flush against the hillside.
The
Centre was formerly a Baptist Chapel and Sunday School, one of the largest
and most magnificent of its time, which has been converted to offices,
conference facilities and residential accommodation without losing its
character.
Renamed Hebden House, the residential wing offers 58 beds in 15 en-suite
rooms. The Centre is fully catered for by Laughing Gravy and a bed linen service is provided in the residential facilities. There is an additional Conference Area available in the Main Hall for 250+ people.
The Residential Wing comprises:
- Lounge/Training Room, a large room with a pleasant
outlook onto a private patio garden
- Breakout Room, a small room adjoining the Training
Room looking onto woodland. There is an additional breakout area to
the side of the training room
- Bedrooms, there are 5 on the first floor, 11 on the
second floor
- Disabled Persons Toilet on the same level as the
lounge/training room
- Dining Room can seat approximately 60 people.
The
bedrooms each have their own toilet, shower, four single beds, vanity
unit and writing desk. On the second floor two of the beds are at a higher
level in the roof space (see drawing) and enjoy extensive views over the
town or hills. This upper level is accessible by a fixed ladder which
is not suitable for the elderly or infirm, but provides an exciting and
enjoyable space for others.
Disabled access
Disabled access is available for all. Ramps from the car park can take
wheelchairs into the lounge of the residential centre. Five ground floor
rooms sleep 10 disabled and 8 carers. A disabled toilet is near the ground
floor rooms and stair lifts for accompanied disabled are provided to each
floor.
Catering
Full board including packed lunches is available. Menus can easily be
adapted to cater for special diets, with vegetarian and vegan our specialty.
Catering for Main Hall bookings can also be arranged. The Management regrets
that self-catering is not permitted.
