A view from the main windowLow Skibeden is one mile east of Skipton, sited just off the eastern by-pass. Surrounded by open countryside and having lovely views, the farm stands on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and yet is close to the centre of this attractive old town with its open air markets, castle and many varied amenities.

The house and cottage have won the top award in the 'Skipton in Bloom' contest and are both 'Recommended' in the 'Which' B&B Guide.

BED AND BREAKFAST AT LOW SKIBEDEN HOUSE

Drive and parkingAt Low Skibeden House a warm and friendly reception awaits you from Heather and Bill Simpson. On arrival you will be served with tea or coffee and cakes.

Traditional Yorkshire hospitality is offered, with a hearty farmhouse breakfast of fruit juice, cereals, English cooked selection, toast, tea or coffee. 

Home from home comforts, little luxuries and fireside treats are provided at no extra charge.

Accommodation includes

  • two en-suite bedrooms each with double and twin beds, from £30 to £32 per person per night;
  • one double with hot & cold water in room and shared bathroom, from £26 to £28 per person per night;
  • one double and one twin room with toilet ensuite, from £28 to £30 per person per night.

There is an additional separate toilet on first floor. Single occupancy of any room is from £36 to £56 per night.

The house has a visitors' lounge with TV and a separate dining room. It is open all year, and has central heating and electric over blankets for the winter. Supper time drinks are served at 9.30pm. Early morning tea facilities are provided in all rooms and use of phone if required.

 

At Low Skibeden private car parking spaces are provided for the exclusive use of guests.

SELF-CATERING AT LOW SKIBEDEN COTTAGE

This cosy little stone-built cottage adjoins the owners' Low Skibeden House.

There is a large garden which is ideal for relaxing in. The cottage is ideal for 2, but will sleep 3, and has the benefit of double glazing and central heating.


The comfortable accommodation comprises:

The view from Low SkibedenA ground floor sitting/dining room with fireplace with electric coal effect fire and window seat and breakfast counter to well equipped kitchen. There is an electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board, and colour TV with video.

On the first floor are two bedrooms - one double and one single room. There is a shower room with WC and basin. Shaver point is provided.

All bed linen and towels are included. There are electric blankets, and electric convection heaters, with electricity on £1 coin meter. £8 of electricity and initial tankful of hot water are included in the price.

Central heating is available at £20 per week. Garden furniture is provided.

There is ample parking. Sorry, no children or pets. No smoking please.

Flower garden and horses, with hills in the backgroundWeekly bookings are from Saturday to Saturday, and tea/coffee and cakes are provided on arrival. Low Season prices are £225 per week, Mid Season, including Easter and Autumn school half-term is £275 per week, and High Season, including Spring Bank Holiday is £325 per week.

In addition to Skipton, scenic Bolton Abbey is nearby, as are the picturesque Yorkshire Dales villages. Harrogate and York are within easy reach.

Whilst travelling from Skipton take the Harrogate Road (don't follow the road to Embsay). Low Skibeden Farmhouse is set back on the right before the roundabout.
