These lovely Dales cottages are set in a beautiful rural location
in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Within two miles of the small market
town of Hawes, they are an ideal base for exploring Wensleydale and the
surrounding area.
All the cottages are English Tourism Council 3/4 Star
Choose from our three comfortable, thoughtfully prepared cottages, all
commended by the English Tourist Board. They are located at High Shaw,
Simonstone, close to our small Dales farm in Wensleydale.
The cottages are open all year, including winter short breaks.
Curlew Cottage - (sleeps 2+)
This super cottage offers
very warm comfortable accommodation all on one level. It is detached with
a rockery garden at the front and a Dales meadow at the back.
Brunskill Cottage
- (sleeps 2-5)
Brunskill is a pretty
south facing Dales cottage with a walled garden and picnic table. Its
cosy lounge/dining room has an open fire for logs and coal.
Fossdale House - (sleeps 2-10)
This newly restored old
Dales building is in a secluded position on the slopes of Stags Fell,
bordered by woodland and overlooking Shaw Ghyll.
All cottages include:
Off-road parking
- Colour television, microwave, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, ironing
table
- Immersion heater, shaving point, electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster,
duvets
- Bed linen hire, cots, high chairs, barbecues, milk, newspapers, groceries,
logs, coal are available by arrangement
The
area is excellent walking country, with the Pennine Way passing through
Hawes, and you can also fish, swim, play tennis and golf, and go pony
trekking nearby. There is plenty to see, with museums, waterfalls, castles
and craft shops within easy reach. Wensleydale was also used as the setting
for James Herriot's 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
