Area - Effie’s Cottage, Upper Settle Settle
is in Ribblesdale on the western fringe of the Yorkshire Dales National
Park. This bustling market town, with its interesting narrow streets
and cobbled courtyards has all the amenities of a small town, plus a
swimming pool and a market in the Square on Tuesdays. Settle also provides
a starting point for one of the most scenic railway journeys in England
- the Settle to Carlisle. Both villages are ideal for touring Herriot and Bronte country, visiting show caves and waterfalls, ancient monuments and stately homes. York is just 90 minutes drive and the cities of Leeds and Bradford are about 45 minutes drive. Upper Settle, which is the oldest part of the town, has quaint cottages on the narrow cobbled streets and courtyards which climb the hillside. Effie’s Cottage is one of these cottages and is just a few minutes walk from the Market Square. Langcliffe village is a pretty Dales village, one mile from Settle, which nestles beneath the scars and outcrops of the limestone uplands It has a shop and a hotel with a public bar. Ewecross Cottage is located in the centre of the village, close to the village green.
'Effie’s Cottage, Upper Settle (sleeps 5) The dining kitchen, which overlooks the garden, has a gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, a washer/dryer and table and chairs to seat 5. The sitting room has multi-fuel stove, colour T.V, music centre and a bookshelf with books of local interest. There are 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a double bedroom with a vaulted beamed ceiling. Bedroom 2 is beamed with two single beds. Bedroom 3 is a single bedroom. The bathroom has a bath, toilet, basin and Mira shower. Outside there is a sunny garden and a parking space. There is also a lockable cycle store.
Ewecross Cottage (Sleeps 4) The
kitchen, which overlooks part of the village green, has a gas hob with
electric oven, coffee maker, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, electric
kettle and a washer/dryer. The sitting room has an ornamental Victorian
fireplace, colour T.V, Video player, a bookshelf with books of local
interest and a small selection of videos and a dining area. There are
2 bedrooms. One is beamed with two single beds (duvets).The other is
a double bedroom that has a king size duvet, bedside tables and a double
wardrobe. The bathroom has a bath, toilet, basin and Mira shower. There
is also a cycle store.Tariff
High Season: £20 per week is deducted for 2 people only. Short
