A rural inn situated near Harrogate, North Yorkshire

The Chequers Inn near Harrogate in North Yorkshire has fine accommodation and food in beautiful surroundings. The magnificent James Herriot country is all around you, with Ripley Castle, Fountains Abbey, Pateley Bridge, Brimham Rocks, Ripon, Knaresborough and York all close by. The Inn is conveniently placed as a rural base for those attending the Harrogate Conference Centre, 6 miles away.


There are 14 en-suite bedrooms, all with colour televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. Some are located on the ground floor, with external access, making them very suitable for persons with limited mobility.

The luxuriously appointed restaurant is open every evening, as well as Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes and Bank Holidays. A carvery and buffet bar are open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes.

The comfortable bars serve traditional ales and wholesome bar food. Pool and darts are available in the games room.

There is a minimum stay in July and August of two nights. Special rate breaks are sometimes available, contact us for details.

How to find us - from Harrogate take the A61 towards Ripon for approximately 4 miles. At Ripley turn left on the B6165 towards Pateley Bridge, after 1/4 of a mile take the right turn sign posted Fountains Abbey continue along this road.
