How to find us:
From the North
Take the A61 from Ripon to Harrogate. At Ripley roundabout,
turn right towards Pateley Bridge (B6165). After approximately
2 miles, turn left (opposite the New Inn), to Hampsthwaite
and Birstwith. Follow the road through Birstwith, and
at the T-Junction (opposite church) turn left passing
the Post Office on the left hand side. Go up the hill,
turn right at the top, and then immediately left (towards
Kettlesing). After approximately 600 yards, the entrance
to Birstwith Hall is on the left.
From the South
Go through Harrogate towards Ripon. At the roundabout
take the Skipton Road (A59). After approximately 1 mile,
go straight over the second roundabout (past the Travellers
Rest pub). 1.6 miles from the Travellers Rest, turn
right on Grayston Plain Lane towards Hampsthwaite (the
third sign to Hampsthwaite you will see). After 3/4
mile, turn left to Birstwith and Swincliffe. Go up the
hill and down the other side, where you will see Birstwith
Hall in front of you. Bear left at the bottom of the
hill, passing the house on your right. At the T-Junction,
turn right and the entrance to the Hall is 100 yards
on your right.
Please be aware that there is a myriad of small
roads in the area, and extra care is required when following
the above instructions.
