Easby Cottage offers a warm and friendly welcome to all its guests... whether arriving by car, on foot or cycle. Relax in the large, comfortable guest lounge and the extensive garden.

Enjoy the picturesque atmosphere of Easby, with its abbey ruins and riverside walks, all within walking distance of historic Richmond town, which offers many attractions such as the Georgian Theatre, the Castle and the recently opened Station visitor centre. As well as refreshments on arrival, guests are offered a choice of a full Yorkshire or continental breakfast.

The house is situated in a small hamlet, a short drive (5 minutes) from Richmond town centre or a pleasant 20 minute walk along the riverside paths. There is secure off-road parking for vehicles.


Richmond is close to the A1 at Scotch Corner and A66, offering easy access to the northern Dales and the wider North East, such as Durham and York. It can also be accessed from Darlington mainline station, with pick-ups arranged by prior notice. Situated on the Coast to Coast, the house is also well located for walkers. Pick-ups and drop-offs for walkers may be pre-arranged with the owner. Cycles can also be safely stored and day fishing permits are available in season on the nearby river Swale. Packed lunches are available if ordered in advance.

Easby Cottage dates back to the early 18th century and is set in a small, peaceful hamlet of period buildings. The house offers many original features such as original oak beams in many rooms.

Guests are able to make use of the large lounge, located in the barn conversion, and relax on the comfortable sofas, making use of the wide range of books and games such as chess. There is also a beautiful garden to enjoy. The abbey ruins, riverside walks and parish church with its mediaeval frescos are close by.

There are two individually decorated bedrooms. One is a large twin-bedded room with a high standard en-suite. The other is a beamed double-bedded room that makes use of the adjacent bathroom.

Each room has cotton bed linen, television and dvd player, digital radio, hospitality tray, hair dryer and alarm clock. Breakfast is taken in a separate dining room. Please note that Easby Cottage is strictly non-smoking and that we are unable to accept pets. Children over the age of 12 are welcome.

Arrivals are normally after 3.00 p.m. unless previously arranged. Departures are normally by 10.00 a.m.

Rates are £35 pp for the twin bedded room with en-suite and £30 pp for the double-bedded room.
