Gaudy House Farm, self-catering rural accommodation
Near Hawes in Upper Wensleydale, Yorkshire Dales

Accommodation at Gaudy House Farm

The Duerley barn (situated to the right in the picture, and far right) has upper and  lower apartments, each with two bedrooms. Upper Widdale (to the left of the white farmhouse  in the picture) is slightly larger, having a small third bedroom.

Lower Duerley (left) is accessed via a porch, and has an entrance hall for boots and coats, leading to a large living room with terrific views down the Dale. The kitchen is fitted with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave    and fridge. There are two bedrooms, one with a double and one with  twin beds, and a bathroom with  bath and shower mixer, wash basin and WC.

Upper Duerley has similar accommodation and is accessed from stone steps up the outside of the barn to its own porch. It has a higher beamed ceiling and a slightly bigger kitchen

Upper Widdale (left) is laid out differently, with its own stone porch, and more of an open plan living/dining and kitchen area and a separate inner hall. It has a large double bedroom, a twin roomw and a small single room.

Colour televisions, video/dvd players and radios are provided throughout. All guests have access to a washing machine and tumble drier in the main farmhouse utility room, at a small extra charge. The farm is served by its own water supply straight off the fells – so after heavy rain it can get quite peaty, but rest assured that it does pass through a filtration and purification system!

Please note that our weekly bookings start at 4.00pm on Saturday and finish at 10.00am on Saturday. Weekend bookings and short stays are available depending on the season and availability.

Gaudy House Farm is marked on most large scale maps, just over a mile from Hawes.

You can best reach it from Hawes by taking the road into Gayle past the Wensleydale Creamery, turning right on reaching Gayle by the red letter box in the wall before the bridge, and then winding up the hill until you pick up the farm sign. Alternatively go out of Hawes on the Ingleton road and take the left turn down the narrow lane opposite the Honeycoat caravan park, proceed for half a mile before picking up the lane to the farm on the right.
