The Hotel
Built around 1640, the Golden Lion Hotel is situated in the heart of Settle's 17th century market place. Still retaining many of its original features, the hotel offers an open log fire, comfortable bar lounge with a good selection of beers, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Facilities
The hotel offers 12 pleasantly furnished bedrooms, 10 of which are en-suite with beautifully co-ordinated decoration.  The rooms comprise 8 double, 2 twin, 2 family all with tea/coffee making facilities and colour TV. A private residents' lounge is available to spend a quiet hour away from the bustling bar areas.

Food a speciality
The Golden Lion is a popular eating house for both locals and visitors, offering a wide variety of traditional and continental dishes using only fresh produce. As the majority of dishes are prepared to order, there may be a short delay, but we guarantee all our food is worth the wait! You may chose to dine in our 70 seater restaurant which is open lunchtime and evenings, or eat by the roaring log fires.

Functions
Weddings, Christening parties, birthdays and club dinner parties can be enjoyed at The Golden Lion; all of which are catered for to our usual high standards. Menus available on request or tailored to your needs.

Settle and the surrounding area
Nestling under Castleberg Rock, Settle is a small market town steeped in local history, with every amenity on offer. Settle market, held every Tuesday, is always worth a visit.

Settle is a good centre for walkers with miles of countryside to explore and limestone scenery to enjoy. You can complete the Three Peaks or take a short ramble around Malhamdale and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Britain's most spectacular railway line from Settle to Carlisle is a thrill for all the family. The railway  is a great day out with breathtaking views and the famous Ribblehead  viaduct. With many places to alight en-route, it is also ideal for walkers or cyclists wishing to discover the Dales countryside.
