This interesting old building was formerly the stables
and coach-house for Grange Farm, Hubberholme which used to be the
Vicarage for the 13th century church nearby. Hubberholme was described
by the dramatist J B Priestley as one of the most pleasant places
in the world".
The barn is in ideal Yorkshrie dales walking country.
It has been converted by local craftsmen into a bunkhouse barn,
offering self-catering accommodation for 18 people.
There are four bedrooms with bunk beds (2 rooms
for 6, 1 room for 4, 1 room for 2), a drying room, showers, wash-rooms
and toilets downstairs. On the first floor is a kitchen with fridge
and cookers, plus a large dining and recreation room in traditional
Dales style giving magnificent views of Langstrothdale.
The barn has central heating with radiators in all
rooms and is open all the year. Catering
utensils, blankets, pillows and pillow cases are provided.There
is plenty of space for parking and parties are welcome.
At weekends all 18 beds must be paid for. Smaller
groups are welcome mid-week.
