Simonstone is at the start of the climb up over Buttertubs Pass to Swaledale and Reeth, which le Tour de France Route 2014 did take. Find fantastic walks from the front door, wonderful views from the cottage and a local bar and restaurant just a few minutes walk away!

There is plenty to see and do from this cosy Wensleydale Cottage base. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy a wide range of Dales walks from sections of the Herriot Way and Pennine Way, to a stroll around Hawes Town Trail. Cyclists and tourers can follow the 2014 Tour de France Stage 1 Route as it passes through Simonstone, and climbs up Buttertubs Pass before riding into Swaledale. Find fly-fishing and pony trekking locally. Family attractions include the Lightwater Valley and Big Sheep, Little Cow Farm attraction. Castles, stately homes and National Trust properties include Richmond and Middleham castles, Fountains Abbey and Newby Hall. Local Dales beauty spots include Aysgarth Falls and Hardraw Force.

Greystones holiday cottage accommodation: Ground floor A double bedroom and single bedroom. The single bedroom has a pull out bed which makes up to a double or twin. House bathroom with shower over the bath. First floor A comfortable lounge with dual aspect windows to take in the wonderful Dales views. Additional double bed-settee and colour TV with free-view channels and DVD. Heating, electricity and bed linen are included in the rent.
