Rockville Cottage sleeps 5 and is a traditional Victorian double-fronted town house close to the centre of Hawes, which lies in beautiful Wensleydale. Every tuesday throughout the year there is an historic street market in Hawes as well as a farmers Auction Mart where you can experience a taste of real Dales life. |
Hawes is a paradise for outdoor enthuisiasts offering a base for ramblers, more serious fell walkers, fishermen and cyclists. The many visitor attractions within the town itself include the Wensleydale Creamery, the Rope Makers, Gayle Mill and the Dales Countryside Museum. There are four pubs, each serving food as well as restaurants, cafes and tea rooms. There are also some lovely walks in the locality along the River Ure or the Pennine Way (which passes through the town) onto the surrounding high fells. Other scenic attractions include Hardraw Scar only 1 mile away and Aysgarth Falls just 8 miles away.
River View Cottage has three double bedrooms and each one looks onto the river, as does the lounge. There is an open fire in the lounge. One of the favourite pastimes of visitors is to sit on the river bank wall in the sunshine and to watch the world go by. Rockville Cottage has one double bedroom and one family room with a double and a single bed. The lounge has
an open fire and there is an easily accessible garage. The south facing patio offers a private place for sitting in the sun and barbeques. |
