Situated in a lovely position overlooking the renowned Green in the centre of the delightful village of Reeth, with its craft shops, folk museum and historic Inns and at the very heart of picturesque Swaledale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Despite the idyllic location we are only fourteen miles from the A1 providing easy access from North or South.

We offer comfortable accommodation in our attractive double rooms. All have tea and coffee making facilities, electric blankets, hairdryers, colour TV and central heating. All rooms are non-smoking.

A traditional freshly cooked Yorkshire breakfast makes a perfect start to the day before stepping back in time to truly relax and discover the beautiful breathtaking scenery of Swaledale - by whatever means you choose!

Swaledale is famous for its hardy breed of sheep and the spectacular wildflower meadows which are a blaze of colour in June and early July.

The villages of Swaledale are full of corners to explore and there are endless opportunities for walking. You can enjoy a farm visit at Hazel Brow Farm, Low Row or hire mountain bikes at Grinton. 

Leading from Reeth, the Arkengarthdale road rises steeply into lead mining country; an industry which thrived here until the turn of the century.  More sparsely populated than Swaledale, Arkengarthdale has a bleak and dramatic appeal. 

After a day out exploring, you may like to sample our Tea Room specialities - a wide choice of home made fare, including our famous 'Dales Afternoon Tea', fruit pies, scones and cakes, or perhaps one of our daily specials.

We also offer an optional evening meal in The Arkleside Country Guesthouse. It's licensed dining room and bar boasts a warm and cosy atmosphere and fantastic views out over the dale. We are open all year (except Christmas) including New Year. Special break rates are available from November to March.

Bed and Breakfast from £30 to £40 per person per night (Based on 2 people sharing).
Evening Meals from approx £12 per person (Minimum Two course at the Arkleside).
Packed lunches available from £5 each.

Please note: *Between March and October there is a minimum 2 night stay at weekends*

Bottle of Wine - We can arrange for a bottle of wine to be put in your room on ice for your arrival. Whether it's Red, White or Sparkling it will make for an ideal surprise. Ask for details when making your reservation. Prices vary.
