KIRKGILL MANOR
Country Bed & Breakfast
Hubberholme, Upper Wharfedale, Yorkshire Dales
KIRKGILL MANOR, nestling in the very heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is the home of Wilf and Pat Jowsey and offers a level of comfort rarely encountered in guest houses. All rooms have en-suite bathroom, colour television and coffee and tea making facilities.
The Manor stands on the edge of the ancient and picturesque hamlet of Hubberholme, situated at the confluence of Langstrothdale and Upper Wharfedale, enjoying magnificent views of the surrounding fells. Nearby is Hubberholme's famous church, which houses a rare oak rood loft, one of the very few surviving examples in Britain.

Kirkgill Manor stands in its own grounds, backing on to the River Wharfe, and has ample car parking facilities.
There is a residents' lounge and the dining room has a magnificent oak table accommodating guests in comfort.
In 1893 Bishop Heber, author of the famous hymn 'From Greenland's Icy Mountains', rebuilt Kirkgill Manor from a farmhouse owned by his family, and for many years it was the local vicarage. The large 'WELCOME' engraved above the front door attracted many visitors in the past and today offers the same warm greeting to guests crossing the threshold to enjoy the comforts and hospitality on offer within.
The area surrounding Hubberholme is a haven for walkers of all levels and offers everything from leafy riverside strolls in green dales to demanding fell walking amongst the rugged beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park; local challenges include the famed 'Three Peaks of Yorkshire' walk.
The beauty of Herriot Country and the delights of Bronte Country are within
easy reach, as are numerous castles and abbeys, all waiting to be
explored. The market towns of Skipton, Hawes and Leyburn are just
a short car ride away, each with its own regular market days to tempt
shoppers. Pony-trekking and fly-fishing are close at hand.
However you choose to spend your day, the area abounds with opportunities
to explore and discover the delights and unspoiled beauty of one of
England's most attractive regions. At the end of your day's activity
you can be assured of a warm welcome and comfortable stay at 'Kirkgill'.
For
the comfort of all our guests no smoking and no pets are permitted at Kirkgill Manor.
Wilf and Pat look forward to welcoming
you to their charming home.
