Moorcote Farm Holiday Cottages is a family run business located high within Nidderdale on its border with the Dales National Park.
We are located in 3 acres of grounds surrounded by woods and a grouse moor, with views down the valley to Jervaulx Abbey and across the Vales of York. Throughout, the pace of life is slow and peaceful; in many respects it is like going back hundreds of years, although we do have the benefits of electricity and satellite TV. Close to the cottages are rough tracks and footpaths that lead through woodland and heather moors. The wonderful thing about Moorcote Farm Cottages, which are accessed by a half mile of single track, is that there is no sight or sound of passing or distant traffic.
Wildlife is everywhere, with curlew, owls, deer, French partridge, black grouse, duck and pheasant to name but a few. And, if you require free range eggs for your breakfast, then our resident hens will be happy to oblige. The cottages are an ideal location for those who like tranquillity and nature and if you like a little astronomy there are wonderful opportunities to view the stars. |
