Raikes Acre
Set in the heart of Wharfedale in North Yorkshire, the newly converted detached cottage is stone built and with traditional stone tiled roof. Conversion is to latest building regulations and is therefore fully insulated and double glazed. The Accommodation- There is oil-fired central heating and hot water, both from a boiler located in an adjacent building.
The accommodation is open plan, with a lounge and a bedroom area.
- There is an en suite bathroom housing double size shower unit with thermostatic controls. WC, vanity unit, shaver point and heated towel rail.
- The lounge area contains hospitality tray, fridge, table and chairs; settee and coffee table, TV/DVD and coal effect stove in fireplace.
The bedroom area has a double bed, bedside cabinets, chair and wardrobe.
- There is a small lobby with radiator, coat hooks for drying wet gear, and there is boot rack by the front door.
- The stable door and two windows face south, and the end bedroom window looks west and doubles as an emergency exit.
The decor is light and modern, whilst retaining period features and effects.
- We have on site parking and a dedicated patio area with seating for guest's use, which has extensive views over to Simons Seat and down Wharfedale.
The Area Raikes Acre is situated at an elevation of 600 feet on Hartlington Raikes, surrounded by farmland stocked with sheep and cows, just half a mile from Burnsall Village with the facilities of the Red Lion Inn, The Devonshire Fell Hotel, The Shop and Cafe on the Green.
The village of Appletreewick with its two pubs is one mile away, and the Devonshire Estate at Bolton Abbey is four miles down the Dale. Your hosts Wilma and Jack have many years' experience in catering, and are more than happy to welcome all lovers of the glorious Yorkshire Dales. Advice can be given on walking routes, which can start from stiles on our doorstep, or car tours and local attractions.
