We would like to invite you to come and enjoy a Dales holiday in our comfortable apartment in The Stable Loft. The beautiful stone stable block, built in 1896, is adjacent to the owner's house and is situated in a quiet corner of the village of Aysgarth in the midst of Wensleydale. The accommodation is in the former hayloft. Aysgarth VillageAysgarth is a small village in mid Wensleydale, famous for its waterfalls. To the east end of the village is a second, small green away from the road and the Stable Loft overlooks this area. There are two pubs in the village, which provide good quality meals and there is a teashop, which also provides light meals. There are also two cafes, one at the Falls and the other at the National Park Information Centre.The nearest shops are in Thoralby and West Burton, the latter also having a butcher's shop. Both are about 2 miles away. The nearest towns are Leyburn and Hawes, both having market days: on Tuesday for Hawes and Friday for Leyburn. You can buy excellent local produce and all the local villages have good places to eat. The Falls are a short walk away, either through the fields or by road, from the village. The National Park Centre provides plenty of information about the local area.The village is in an ideal setting for those who wish to walk. There are many circular walks or you can make use of the bus to take you part of the way. Your AccommodationOn the ground floor, as you enter the property, the former tack room has been made into a utility room with an automatic washing machine, ironing board and iron and drying facility for walking clothing and boots. The living accommodation is upstairs. All the rooms have beamed ceilings and the rafters have been left exposed in the sitting room. The woodwork is in planked pine. There is fitted carpeting throughout and oil-fired central heating in all rooms. The large sitting room has magnificent views over the Dale through the large window in the gable of the building. There is a Parker Knoll suite, a dining suite, and a log effect electric fire. There is a digital TV with integral DVD player, and a radio with CD player. Books and games and a selection of CDs and DVD are provided along with various brochures to help plan your outings. The kitchen has an electric cooker and microwave, a fridge, electric kettle, toaster, and sandwich maker. There is a breakfast table with chairs and a good selection of kitchen utensils and crockery. There are three bedrooms: one double bedroom and two adjacent single bedrooms at the far end of the loft next to the bathroom. All the bedrooms have pine beds, fitted wardrobes and clothes storage. All the beds have duck down duvets and electric blankets for the colder months and lighter micro fibre filled duvets for summer. The bathroom has bath with shower over, washbasin and toilet, hairdryer, a shaver power point and toiletries. There is a separate airing cupboard with an immersion heater. Bed linen, towels and extra blankets are supplied. Linen, heating and electricity are included in the tariff. Tariff: £300 low season to £450 high season. The loft is available from 2pm on the day of booking until 10am on the departure day. We do not take children under 5 years or pets. The Loft sleeps a maximum of four. We have a no smoking policy, which we ask you to honour. Outside you have a garden with lovely views over and along the dale with a seating area with garden furniture. There is a footpath from the garden leading down to the river Ure and another path through the fields to the church and the famous Aysgarth Falls. You have private parking for two cars and we can provide safe storage for bicycles. During the low season months or at short notice if a week remains unbooked, we do offer short breaks starting on a Saturday or Wednesday and priced on a daily basis. The minimum stay is three days. |
