Stonecroft
is a traditional style, 18th century stone, Yorkshire Dales cottage,
quietly situated in a cobbled lane, just off the Market Square in the
historic Wensleydale town of Middleham.
The
imposing castle is a short distance away and all the town’s amenities
are within a minute's walk. There is a regular bus service. The nearest
railway station is 15 miles away in Northallerton. The major road route,
the old Roman Great North Road (now the A1) is 12 miles to the east.
Although recently totally renovated to a high standard, Stonecroft still
retains much character, including exposed beams in all rooms.
Accommodation
comprises: lounge, with colour TV, BBC Digi-box and video; spacious
dining kitchen
with cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, filter coffee maker, auto washer,
tumble dryer and CD/Cassette/Radio Tuner. On the first floor there
are two double-bedded bedrooms.
One is particularly spacious and overlooks the roof tops into Wensleydale.
The
modern bathroom has a slipper bath with shower over. Central heating,
if needed, is provided by a multi-fuel stove set in an inglenook
fireplace.
Moveable heaters are also provided and water can be heated through
the immersion heater.
The period
oak furnishings and subtle concealed lighting have been carefully selected
to make your stay cosy and comfortable.
Outside, to the front of the cottage, there is private parking and a
small, south-facing patio area on which are many container-grown shrubs
and plants.
"What
we have tried to achieve at Stonecroft is not just another holiday cottage,
but a warm, welcoming and friendly home offering a high standard of
holiday accommodation at a very reasonable rate."
