Self-catering holidays and touring caravans at Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast
from YorkshireHolidays.net

Yorkshire Holidays, Whitby

We offer three self-catering cottages in the heart of historic Whitby, plus touring caravan seasonal pitches and a static caravan on our caravan site, scenic views of the sea and the historic Whitby Abbey ruins, just half a mile from the famous 199 steps leading into Whitby's old town.

Whitby is one of the most atmospheric seaside towns on the Yorkshire Coast,  still with an active fishing fleet and a busy and picturesque harbour. Its sandy beaches are ideal for family holidays.

The birthplace of the explorer Captain Cook, and home to the legendary novel of Dracula, Whitby has entertainment for all the family. Close by are the North York Moors and 'Heartbeat' country, the series being filmed in and around Whitby.

Whitby hosts many events during 2008:

  • Whitby Regatta, August (2008, 2-3-4 August)
  • Folk Week, August (2008 16-23 August)
  • The Dinosaur Coast - a trip along the North Yorkshire coastline takes you back in time 200 million years
  • Take a Whitby Ghost Walk - join the man in black at the whale bones at 8pm for a 75 minute walk to discover the strange and supernatural.
  • Gothic Sabbath October weekend.

Daily fishing trips are available on the quay side in the town, with possible sitings of dolphins, porpoises and sometimes whales. The Whitby Spa Complex offers a variety of events and shows throughout the season.

Choose from our self-catering accommodation or pitch your caravan at our convenient caravan park for the summer season.
