There are plenty of things to see and do in the area. From the doorstep there are many magnificent walks and streams for family picnics and children's stream dipping. Locally mountain bikes may be hired and there is fly-fishing and a pony trekking centre as well as golf courses in Richmond and Catterick. There are regular race meetings at Ripon and Catterick. Reeth, locally referred to as ‘the capital’ of Swaledale is well worth exploring and Constable Burton with its public gardens. Hawes offers the Wensleydale Cheese Company, the Rope Factory as well as Big Sheep, Little Cow's children's attraction.

Both houses have water fresh from a mountain spring. Blankets, duvets and pillows are provided, but visitors should bring their own bed linen, towels, table cloths and tea towels. These can be supplied by a local hire company if more convenient - we can supply details. Cottage No 1 sleeps up to 9 people with 4 bedrooms Cottage No 2 sleeps up to 8 people with 2 double bedrooms and a bunk bed room. Dog friendly accommodation.
