Thwaitedale Cottages are 4 cottages, situated in the pretty village of Thwaite, Upper Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. East and West Chapel Cottages each sleep 2 to 6, whilst East and West Cottages each sleep 2 to 4. They are owned by the Hunter family, who have been offering quality accommodation in Thwaite for over 50 years. Swaledale is an area of outstanding natural beauty and there are lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. The Coast to Coast Walk and Pennine Way both pass close by. Swaledale is famous for its sheep, traditional dry stone walls and haybarns. Its protected wild flower meadows burst into colour in May and June and rich Autumn hues from September onwards. It is a beautiful dale in all seasons with snowy landscapes, autumn colours, spring lambs and lush summer foliage all offering their particular attractions. Great days out include the Swaledale villages of Reeth and Keld, the market towns of Leyburn, Richmond, Masham and Hawes with Wensleydale Creamery and Dales Museum. The Pennine Way long distance footpath passes through Thwaite, and the Coast to Coast Walk passes over nearby Kisdon Hill.
Thwaitedale Cottage accommodation offers East and West Chapel, sleep 2 to 6 in 3 bedrooms, lounge/dining room with wood-burning stoves, flat screen TV and sky freeview, radio, DVD player and wifi. East and West Cottage sleep 2 to 4 in a double and twin bedroom. They have lounge/dining areas with open fires, antique furniture and comfortable seating. The cottages offer short breaks as well as weekly bookings with flexible start days. One or two well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. |
