Our cottages are situated in the pretty village of Thwaite in Upper Swaledale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. The Hunter family have been offering quality accommodation in Thwaite for over 50 years. Swaledale is famous for its sheep, traditional dry stone walls and haybarns. Its protected wild flower meadows burst into colour in May and June, & rich Autumn hues from September onwards. It is a beautiful dale with many hill streams that tumble and cascade over waterfalls - a magical place to be when the early evening light changes across the hills. Thwaitedale Cottages are an ideal place for walking, or simply relaxing and drinking in the atmosphere. The Pennine Way long distance footpath passes through Thwaite, and the Coast to Coast walk passes over nearby Kisdon Hill. |
