Standing at the edge of a hayfield, the barn has double dining room doors with stunning views over the wooded valley of Hardcastle Crags. For many years a romantic ruin, the National Trust has sympathetically rebuilt the barn using the original stone and other architectural features including the timber cow stalls, which form the kitchen area. This stunning holiday cottage, which dates from the 19th century and is a grade II listed building, reflects the open plan of the original barn. Downstairs Kitchen with original cow stalls in place, stone steps leading up to open plan dining area, twin bedroom, shower room and lavatory. Upstairs Open plan sitting room with multi-fuel stove, gallery master bedroom with double bed. Facilities Television, telephone, washing machine, tumble dryer, cot, highchair, freezer. Visitor Notes Oil central heating included. Parking area for two cars. Small patio and fenced garden. Water is on a spring so visitors are asked to use water carefully. |
