Our
nineteenth century house is conveniently situated mid-way between
Bradford and Halifax, just off the A6036, and within 10 minutes drive of
the M606 and M62. Peace and tranquillity are guaranteed, as we are
reached by a private road (with private parking). We have a spectacular
3 / 4 acre garden filled with roses, clematis and honey-suckle. We even
have our own waterfall!
Guests
are welcome to relax in the garden on summer evenings or take breakfast
on the patio. Rooms are furnished for your comfort and enjoyment,
central heating, duvets, electric blankets, hair dryers, colour TVs
and your own tea and coffee making facilities.
To make you feel welcome
there will be fruit, fresh flowers and homemade biscuits in your room.
Each room is either en-suite or has private facilities.
We
have furnished the bedrooms using items from our travels in Africa as a
focal point for the restful colour schemes, and throughout the house you
will find stripped pine doors, old furniture and antique fireplaces.
Sue is a keen and skilled cook and will
serve a full English breakfast, or a light breakfast with fresh fruit,
home-made muesli, yoghurt and wholemeal bread.
We
are just a minute's stroll from Bentley's restaurant, serving
high-quality food, or there are several pubs within easy walking
distance for good value meals. Vegetarians can be catered for.
Above all, the house is a
family home, and you will find it friendly, informal and welcoming. You
will have a magical glimpse of the Yorkshire countryside, just 4 miles
from the heart of Bradford and Halifax, making Woodlands an ideal
retreat for business people and other visitors to the area.
Woodlands
is convenient for Bronte Country, Pennine walking, industrial heritage
museums and is within an hours drive of York and the Yorkshire Dales.
We regret that we are unable
to accommodate children under 10 years old, or dogs. We are a non-smoking
household.
