Things to Do There are a whole host of things to do during your stay and plenty of activities to interest everyone. Walking from the Centre There are many walks including the Dales Way which runs past the centre. Popular walks include Kilnsey to Malham and Kilnsey to Kettlewell or Grassington. Riverside walks can be taken between Kettlewell and Buckden, Grassington to Burnsall and Arncliffe to Hawkswick. There are walks in Grass Woods near Grassington which encompass ancient woodland, hill fort and settlement. There are hundreds of other stunning walks and the centre manager will be happy to provide you with maps and all relevant information you may need. Ingleton waterfalls, Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Abbey Estate and How Stean Gorge are a short ride away and are more organised estate type walks. Brimham rocks near Patley Bridge offers walks around interesting and unique rock formations. Gardens & Historic Houses Bolton Abbey and Estate (20 mins), Perceval Hall and Gardens (20 mins), Skipton Castle (20 mins), Bolton Castle (35 mins), Fountains Abbey (45 mins), Ripon Cathederal (50 mins), Thorpe Perrow Arboretum (50mins), Middleham Castle & Constable Burton Hall Gardens Harrogate (45 mins), Harlow Carr Botanical Gardens and Ripley Castle (40 mins). Alternatively at Ingleton there are the White Scar Caves, 01524241244. Climbing Just 500m away is the famous Kilnsey Crag with the hardest routes on limestone in England. Malham has more varied climbing from beginner to experienced. Yew Cougar is a remote quiet spot with grit stone climbing nearby. Indoor climbing is available at Ingleton. Rail Trips The famous Settle to Carlisle Railway is just 40 minutes away running over the moors and Dales with steam engines on certain days. At Embsay, 10 miles away there is a steam railway with engines running most days.
