Halton Gill Bunk Barn
| Halton Gill Bunk Barn is situated at the head of Littondale, the quietest and most beautiful of the Yorkshire Dales in the centre of the National Park. It lies at the foot of Pen-y-ghent, one of the famous Three Peaks, near the Pennine Way and the Dales Way, and the area is criss-crossed by a number of public footpaths. | Besides walking, there is climbing and pot-holing locally, and fishing and pony trekking at Kilnsey, as well as mountain biking, and a full range of outdoor activities in the area. We recommend Yorkshire Dales Guides for orienteering, team building and guided walks, and The Sunhill Centre for laser combat, rally karts and rope courses. The nearest pub is The Queen's Arms in Litton and the nearest shops are 10 miles away, although a nearby supermarket does deliver to Halton Gill. The Cowan family farmed in Halton Gill for nearly 150 years, and converted the traditional stone barn to provide high quality, low cost, group accommodation. Local craftsmen have retained the original charm and features of the buildings while providing very comfortable accommodation to the highest standards. | |
