Hornby Laithe Bunkhouse Barn is low cost, simple, yet comfortable accommodation in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Converted from original farm buildings, the Bunkhouse occupies a secluded position within easy walking distance of both Stainforth and Settle. 


It is an ideal base for walkers, or groups wishing to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. The walking is superb, offering a wide variety for both the seasoned walker or climber and those wishing to explore the countryside at a leisurely stroll.



The Bunkhouse is open all year round and can accommodate small or large groups (up to 46 / 48), with separate staff or group leader/staff accommodation if required. There is ample parking.

Stainforth is a pretty village which nestles into the side of a fell, with a beck (crossed via stepping stones), a green and a traditional Dales pub, all worth seeing. Settle (five minutes drive), is a lovely, traditional market town, with shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as a golf course and swimming pool.

Local places of interest include Stainforth Foss, a picturesque waterfall on the river Ribble, just a walk across the fields from the barn, where the salmon leap on their journey upstream to spawn.

Other places worth a visit are Clapham, Malham Cove and Ingleton Waterfalls. The famous Ribblehead railway viaduct is a short drive away.

There is also a variety of local activities, including:

  • The Falconry Centre

  • White Scar Caves

  • Horse Riding

  • Permit fishing

  • Potholing and caving

Further afield, take a trip on the famous scenic Settle-Carlisle Railway. What better way to see the Dales? The Lake District, Bronte Country and Blackpool are also within easy driving distance.

We also have accomodation available in the Lake District. The property below is situated in Bowness-On-Windermere. It is a modern two bedroomed semi-detached town house situated in a popular residential area.

The inside of the sitting room is in a modern style. The house has uPVC double glazed windows with double doors leading out onto a railed balcony with a tiled floor.

As you look out from the house you can see the Lake District's beautiful landscape, with rugged terrain and trees.
