Bunk-style self-catering accommodation in the Three
Peaks
Dub-Cote Farm is located on the flanks of Pen-y-ghent (on left above,
with Pen-y-ghent in background)
and dates back to 1658 or possibly earlier. It lies approximately
½ mile south east of Horton-in-Ribblesdale,
is linked by public footpath to the Pennine Way ¾ mile away and is in
the famous Three Peaks area. Dub-Cote Barn is not only well located for
fell walking but is also an ideal base for pot holing, cycling, or for
field studies. The barn is built of local limestone with a stone slate
roof.
Accommodation and facilities
Dub-Cote
Barn has been tastefully converted to provide self-catering accommodation
for up to 14 people. To the ground floor are four bedrooms sleeping 2,
2, 4 and 6 persons (spring mattresses and pillows are provided, but
please bring sleeping bag and pillowcase) and also a large heated
drying room with tumble dryer. Upstairs are mens' and womens' washrooms,
separate toilets and a shower room (20p meter). There is also a fully
equipped kitchen with electric cookers and fridge etc, and all crockery,
cutlery and pans are provided.
The
dining/recreation area gives visitors lovely views of Pen-y-ghent and
the Ribblesdale Valley. The hall and recreation room area are heated by
block storage heaters for early and late season stays.
Prices are £9.75 per person per night.
Electricity for heaters,
cookers, fridge, hot water and lighting is inclusive of the price.
There is a 10% discount for full Barn Group bookings between Sunday and
Thursday.
