All these bunk house barns and outdoor centres have bunks in separate bedrooms, kitchen/dining room with lounge/recreation area, toilets and showers, a drying room, hot water and heating, and ample car parking. They are all conveniently situated in excellent walking areas of high scenic value, many near routes such as the Dales Way and the Pennine Way.
Most of these bunk houses have been converted from traditional Dales stone barns used to store hay and house cattle in winter. One was a former stables and coach house. Another was formerly a chapel.
